More soap!

I made some more soap. This time I used this recipe:
Sherry's Fantastic Soap
24 oz canola
18 oz coconut oil
6 oz cocoa butter
6 oz castor oil
16 oz olive oil (pomace or pomace/olive blend is fine)
9.8 oz lye
21-23 oz water
Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil of choice
Temps: Water/Lye 105-110 degrees / Oils 110-115 degrees

And I added passion fruit Fragrance oil to it.
We had a little mishap at first. Joshy pulled on the blankets wrapping it and it fell on the floor. Thankfully the soap was already set by then so there was no harm. But my poor soap mold got some damage. Im hoping I can repair it.

I made soap today!

Yay! I finally made soap today! I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now. I went to Gloria's and watched her make it, Ive watched tutorials on the internet and read everything I could so that I could be prepared. I was nervous about the Lye and thats what has kept me from trying this. But it really wasnt that bad. I survived! lol I really hope I did everything correctly and it turns out. After I get the soap out of the molds I have to cut them and let them cure for several weeks before I can use them which is going to KILL me lol.
This is the recipe I used:
"Canolive" Soap (Kathy Miller)
40 ounces Canola Oil
36 ounces Olive Oil
12 ounces Coconut Oil
24 ounces cold water
12 ounces lye crystals

Temperatures: between 90-100 degrees

Soap!

I made soap! Yay! I love making it. Its so much fun. All these soaps smell so pretty! I only know how to do the melt and pour method but hopefully will learn other ways down the road :) For some of these soaps I used goats milk soap base and put chamomile in it for texture. They turned out pretty good I think :)
