Joshys new dog dog

Well, I was inspired by looking at all the dolls and animals that have been sewn up by a lady on a forum I frequent. So I decided to make Joshy one :) Its taken me a few days to get this done because Ive been sick so Ive only done tiny bits here and there. But it wouldve been completely pretty quickly if I hadve done it all at once. I used the Little Louie pattern from bit of whimsy dolls. Its definetly not perfect but this one was a learning one so hopefully my next one will be better. It was really fun to make this little guy :) And joshy was so excited to learn that the dog dog was for him.

Chloes new ballet bag

Chloe wanted a new ballet bag.. one that was more grown up looking. She picked this pattern and then went through fabric in my stash and picked out what she liked. The bag turned out bigger then her and I expected but she is happy with the size cause she said it has plenty of room for all her stuff. I embroidered her name on it.. She picked light blue as the thread color so it didnt show real well in the picture. I was supposed to also embroider ballet shoes on it but... I sewed it together part of the way making it difficult to embroider anything.. but I was able to do her name. I plan on making her another bag one that is a little smaller then this in case she doesnt need to carry as much stuff. This bag will be great on recital day though cause she has tons of stuff to carry :)

Mya's new dress

I made Mya this dress today. She was so excited that I was making her a dress she kept coming back to check to see if I was done yet. The zipper really had me beating my head against the wall but Jennifer talked me through it over the phone (thanks jennifer) and I was able to get it in although its not the most beautiful looking zipper it does function lol. Its a little big especially in the waist but I chose to make a size 7 instead of the size 6 cause I worried the size 6 would be too small cause she was borderline on the measurements plus I was worried it would be too short. I wasnt thrilled with this pattern so I doubt Ill be making any more dresses from this one. I need to find a pattern to make Tira a dress cause I have this pretty fabric Im dying to make something out of :)

Mya's jammies

Mya is my girly girl. She loves dresses and pretty frilly things. She loves when I make her sleep pants but her favorite thing to wear to bed are nightgowns. She loves to look beautiful. So I decided to make her a nightgown this year. This is my first ever nightgown. Im worried it will be big although I did measure her and chose the correct size but it looks a bit big. I cant wait to see her excitement cause she thinks shes getting pants and a shirt :)

Joshy's jammies

Every year the kids get one present on Christmas Eve.. its always pajamas. They know this and look forward to it. Last year I decided to make them pajamas instead of buying them. They were SOO excited about these pajamas and every single one of them has worn them a ton of times (besides Josh who quickly outgrew his) So this year I decided to make them pajamas again. Ive know I was going to make them for a long while now but have put it off because Ive had other things to sew and other things to do and I just kept procrastinating. Well as Christmas Eve is approaching and Im running out of time I thought I best get busy. So here are Joshy's pajamas. Im irritated with how the appliques went on.. my machine was fighting me and I had a headache and shouldve walked away but decided not to. But all in all its not bad and I cant wait to see him wearing them :) Oh the shirt is a size 2T rabbit skins t.

And more baby legwarmers

I walked passed these socks in walmart the other day and had to get them.. its rare to see a pair that would suit a boy so I had to grab them. Joshy thought they were funny.. Im not sure why but when I put them on them he kept pointing to them and giggling lol

Bag holder

Ive made several of these to give as gifts. They hold the plastic bags you get from places like walmart so you can reuse the plastic bags :)

More Baby legwarmers

These were made from a scarf I found at the dollar tree!! I saw the scarves on a rack and noticed they were knit in a tube with the ends sewn together. I wasnt sure how theyd work so I only bought one. I was amazed how well they worked! I need to go back and see if they have more!

Baby legwarmers

After seeing Doreen making a bunch of baby legwarmers for her new baby I went on a search to find some knee high socks that I could make into some legwarmers for Josh. Its extremely hard to find boyish knee highs. I was excited when I found these :) I still was unsure how to finish them... I googled it and found these instructions with pictures. I have 2 more pair of socks. One pair is just plain black like the pair above..but the other one is stripes. Ill post them when I get them made. I had wanted to get pics of these with Joshy wearing them but he got a new pair of custom knit longies in the mail today and apparently he likes them because he kept shaking his head no at me when I took them off and tried to put the legwarmers on. And then he started trying to put the longies back on lol.. so I just put them back on and figured I could get an action shot later :)

Placemat bag

I had bought this placemat a while ago with the idea to make a bag out of it but never got around to it. While digging in my sewing room for something to make that would sew up quick because I was wanting instant gratification I found this. Super easy! It doesnt have a lining in it.. im still wrapping my brain around how to add one to my next one. Im on the hunt now for some really good prices on some cute placemats :)

Wool Soakers

The blue wool soaker I made for Joshy. I dyed it with Kool Aid and TRIED to applique the star fish on it. The starfish is just sad looking but the soaker itself came out pretty good. Its still wet from lanolizing it but I cant wait to try it on him. The plain soaker is for a lady on one of my co ops. I am part of a sew and swap and Im supposed to sew a suprise for her based off info she gave about herself.
